Playtime

She loves to hold just about anything and is interested in everything around her. She especially loves her stacking cups and holding rattles. I think her favorite thing to hold is her spoon though, with bananas on it, of course!

(almost) on the move

Maya is trying SO hard to crawl!

Giggling with Daddy

Maya loves her play time with Daddy!

6 months old!

Today we are the proud parents of 6 month old Maya Renee.  As I am sure every parent who has ever walked the earth has said, we cannot believe how fast the time has gone.  Maya brings so much joy to our lives and we already cannot imagine life without her.  She is becoming more and more independent - she sits by herself, holds the spoon when we feed her (she LOVES bananas!) and puts forth a persistent effort to crawl each day.   She makes adorable happy noises and has quite a catchy giggle too.   It is so much fun to watch her grow and do these new things, but the best part about being her parent is just spending time with her and watching her little personality emerge.  I am blessed to have a flexible job that allows me to be home 2 days/week with her now. I know that I am lucky to have this time with her and I truly cherish it.  I love being Maya's mom.

On my own

Miss Independent not only holds the book on her own, but reads it to herself too :)

Ready for winter

Back in WA, Maya is ready for winter. She is growing really quickly right now, sitting up with very little help, trying really hard to move on her belly and playing with all of her new Christmas toys. She still loves outings in the Baby Bjorn, smiling at strangers and looking out windows too. We can't believe she is 5 1/2 months old and has more than doubled in size since she was born. Time just flies when we are having so much fun with her!

Too many girls

Uncle Drew is truly outnumbered! Bows and glitter are an inevitable part of his life now.

Hangin' with the big girls

Up way too late one night at Memaw and Papa's, Maya had a great time hangin' with big girls Ainsley and Zoe.

Glamour Girls

Zoe turned 5 and got to go to Sweet and Sassy to get her hair, nails and makeup done like the true glamour girl she is. Ainsley and the rest of us all dressed up for the big outing, per Miss Zoe's request. The only coat I had with me, my REI fleece, did not fit Zoe's dress code for the day so she dug up an old dress coat from the closet for me to wear. Whatever the birthday fashionista wants on her big day!

Zoobie madness

I love my Zoobies! Santa spoiled Maya with 4 Zoobies and so much more. She had a blast on her first Christmas.

Christmas Cousins

Taryn and Maya were ready for a night out on the town on Christmas Eve! Maya would love to be just like her big cousin Taryn and crawl and stand on her own too...

Here I am!

Maya got to greet lots of familiar faces with her big smiles each morning in Ohio. She loved the full house of girls and being spoiled by Memaw, Papa, her aunts and cousins.

Happy Maya

All bundled up in Ohio, Maya was all smiles and ready for the holidays!

VIP in the making

We were so lucky to be visited by Lynsey and Suzanne in mid-December. It was a very special girls weekend - time to truly be cherished. As you can see in this photo, Maya just wanted to be part of it all - it can't hurt to start her VIP training early!

Bridge of Glass

Maya's first trip to the Chihuly Bridge of Glass in Tacoma.
